These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.

  • Questions you ask Max (processed via Anthropic API — not stored on our servers)
  • Directory registration details (name, email, phone, suburb, TPB number) for accountants and bookkeepers who register a listing
  • Pro subscription access codes

Information collected automatically:

  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and features used (via analytics)
  • Answer history stored in your browser's local storage (Pro users only — never sent to our servers)
  • Mileage log data stored in your browser's local storage

We do not collect your Tax File Number (TFN), bank account details or passwords. Please do not submit these.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve the Max Tax service
  • To process and display directory listings
  • To communicate with directory registrants about their listing
  • To detect and prevent misuse of the free tier
  • To analyse usage patterns and improve the service

4. Anthropic API & AI Processing

Questions you ask Max are sent to Anthropic's Claude API for processing. Anthropic processes this data in accordance with their Privacy Policy. We do not store your questions on our own servers. Do not include your TFN, passwords or sensitive financial details in questions.

5. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information to:

  • Anthropic (for AI processing of questions)
  • Analytics providers (aggregated, non-identifiable data)
  • Payment processors (Stripe) for Pro subscriptions
  • Law enforcement where required by Australian law

6. Data Storage & Security

Directory listing data is stored securely. Your browser's local storage (answer history, mileage logs) is stored on your device only and is not accessible to us. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission. We take reasonable steps to protect your information but cannot guarantee absolute security.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

  • Access personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your directory listing
